Elliott Group Unveils ESG Launch

Elliott Group, a leading construction company committed to sustainable practices, proudly announces the company wide launch of a comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiative as part of its 2024 ESG Strategy.

Central to Elliott Group’s strategy is the launch of SustainIQ, an innovative all-in-one ESG reporting software. SustainIQ enables the measurement, monitoring, and reporting of the social, economic, and environmental performance of all operations, perfectly aligning with Elliott Group’s mission to integrate sustainability throughout its business practices.

“We are thrilled to introduce SustainIQ as a cornerstone of our ESG strategy,” said Matthew O’Dowd, Group HSEQ Director at Elliott Group. “With SustainIQ, we are empowering our teams to create positive change every day across our organisation. We believe that small actions can lead to significant change.”

In conjunction with the software launch, Elliott Group introduced a wildflower seed distribution initiative aimed at promoting biodiversity and environmental awareness. The company have distributed seed packets and accompanying informational booklets to all staff members, encouraging them to participate in the cultivation of native wildflowers.

Elliott Group team present seed packets to the Green Team at The Belfry

This week, Elliott Group partnered with the esteemed The Belfry Hotel and Resort in Birmingham, where ongoing upgrades to the facilities are underway. The Belfry expressed their delight in joining this initiative, highlighting their own commitment to sustainability with two prestigious green accreditations – the Silver Green Tourism Award and GEO Certification.

At the Belfry, their dedicated ‘Green Team,’ comprising members from all hotel departments, serves as in-house ESG Champions. They meet monthly to review, agree, and communicate on projects aimed at minimizing the hotel’s ecological footprint. Notably, the hotel grounds boast a thriving population of over 100,000 honey and bumble bees, with eight onsite hives. These bees play a crucial role in pollinating seasonal flowers, aiding in biodiversity conservation efforts.

With the donation of wildflower seeds from Elliott Group, the Belfry is further enhancing its commitment to supporting pollinators. These seeds will provide the bees with an abundance of pollen-rich flowers year-round, ensuring their continued health and vitality.

Elliott Group would like to thank The Belfry Hotel and Resort, Birmingham, for partnering with us on the seed distribution initiative and for allowing us access to the beautiful woodland grounds of the hotel with their Green Team. Elliott Group also extends a thank you to Kildare GAA and their sponsor, Cedral, for their support of the launch.

“We are immensely grateful to our partners for joining us in this important effort,” added Laura McCooey, HSEQ, Social, Governance & Sustainability Manager for Elliott Group. ” With SustainIQ, we can deliver real-time and accurate reporting back to all of our stakeholders on our ESG performance and keep ourselves accountable as we work toward our longer-term sustainability goals.”
