Mellon Educate Building Blitz 2024

Mellon Educate, founded by Niall Mellon in 2002, focuses on transforming education in underserved communities, shifting from housing to prioritising quality schooling for children. Through their Building Blitz programme, volunteers and resources are mobilised to construct and refurbish schools, creating safe learning environments.

Elliott Group has proudly supported this charity for 7 years, highlighting our commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for children in need.

On 16th November, eleven volunteers from Elliott Group will join Mellon Educate in South Africa to build a school alongside over 300 volunteers worldwide. This project aims to provide a safe sanctuary where children can receive life-changing education. We’ve witnessed firsthand the challenging conditions these children endure, yet also their incredible resilience and hope.

This year, we have been fortunate to have eleven volunteers step forward, including Noel Elliott, who has generously dedicated his time for his seventh consecutive year. Together, we are actively raising the much-needed funds, with each volunteer striving to collect £4,000 through their own individual fundraising efforts, in addition to the £1,000 donation contributed by Elliott Group for each of our team.

Noel Elliott expresses his heartfelt gratitude: “Thank you for supporting these children’s pursuit of education. Over my seven years of involvement, I have witnessed miracles in the African townships. The hope and enthusiasm shining in the eyes of the children, their parents, and their teachers as we improve their facilities and provide them with a chance to transform their lives never fails to humble me. It reminds us all of how fortunate we are in the West, where education is so readily available to us all.”
